James Wan is a 34 year old horror film director who was born in Malaysia. James Wan has graduated from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and has won many awards such as the Pegasus Audience Award, Special Jury prize, Youth Jury Grand Prize and the Audience Award.
James Wan is mostly known for directing the famous horror films Saw 1, Dead Silence and Insidious. James Wan’s directed films are recognised globally and have generated large amounts of gross at the box office with Saw 1 grossing $103 million, Dead silence grossing $22 million and Insidious grossing $91 million. James Wan is also known for creating the iconic and famous villain characters Billy the puppet and Jigsaw from Saw 1. The characters James Wan created were liked so much by the audience that character bags, toys, pencil cases etc were made which raised more money and awareness for the film. James Wan is also known for producing and being a screenwriter for horror films for example he produced Saw 3 and was the screenwriter for Dead silence.
