Adeola's Top 2 Horror Movies

Personally I am a huge fan of horror. The goury content is what makes it so interesting to me. As a group we have done alot of research into different horror movies and have found out various different things such as the conventions of a horror. My two favourite horror movies have to be; Scream 4 and Jeepers Creepers.

Director: Victor Salva
Writer: Victor Salva
Stars: Gina Philips, Justin Long and Jonathan Breck

Jeepers Creepers has to be one of my favourite goury horror films in the sub-genre of  slasher horrors. I think that it is very creative with the use of  special effects and make up used on the unhuman creature. However it is very predictable with the school bus full of teenagers breaking down in the middle of the woods. It follows the elimination theory where one teenager at a time gets captured and killed. If I could change one thing about this movie it would be the lack of realism that it has. The lighting was very often low key, even though this is an effective feature for horror it could have been a bit brighter.

Director: Wes Craven
Writer: Kevin Williamson
Stars: Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette

One of the things that I like about the sequel of 'Scream 4' is the way all the other parts correspond with eachother. I found the use of the mask effective because it made you play the guessing game as to who the killer was. In some other horror movies you may be aware of the killer but in all the parts of 'Scream' the killer is never revealed till the end. I think this is a successful feature included in 'Scream' because it has you on edge right till the end of the movie. If i could change one thing about 'Scream 4' it would be the fact that it is predictable and you knew who was going to die and when.
